Raquel Rivera, author of Orphan Ahwak, will discuss the art of illustrating. Participants will be offered a selection of titles of imaginary books and be asked to help design the cover art for one of these books!

Jennifer Lloyd

Children's department

Jennifer Lloyd begins her workshop with a reading from her picture book Looking for Loons using props and audience involvement. A nature guessing-game and craft will follow.

Henry T. Aubin

Henry T. Aubin will speak about his novel Rise of the Golden Cobra—an action-packed story about the conquest of Egypt by Nubias in 8th century B.C and the little-known leadership role of black Africans in the eastern Mediterranean for 75 years.
